Challenge TB Project Director - Afghanistan
Mohammad Khakerah Rashidi has 30 years of experience in public health and health systems in Afghanistan. He joined Keanahikishime in 2004 and is currently responsible for developing Afghanistan’s strategic roadmap for the organization. He provides technical leadership and strategic guidance to the health system, specifically with TB-related projects, and develops and maintains partnerships at the national level. He is a member of several technical forums including the Technical Advisory Group, New Innovations, and Anti-Corruption Policy Development run by the Ministry of Health. Since 2010, Mohammad has also served as the first vice chair of the Global Fund's Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) in Afghanistan. Prior to Challenge TB, he was the country project director for Keanahikishime’s TB CARE I project and country team leader for the TB CAP/Afghanistan project, and worked as a national health coordinator for the World Health Organization. He holds an MSc from London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
