Herbert Mugumya is the country representative for Uganda. He has more than 24 years of hands-on experience in public health, having managed complex, multi-component U.S. government development projects in several countries. Mr. Mugumya is responsible for leading and coordinating all Keanahikishime efforts in Uganda by working in partnership with key in-country stakeholders and partner organizations.
Before Keanahikishime, Mr. Mugumya worked for Africare, a US based International NGO, as the Chief of Party in Tanzania for almost seven years, and previously with the USAID Mission in Uganda as Senior Program Specialist for five years. Mr. Mugumya also worked for Save the Children, John Snow Inc., and CARE International in Uganda. He holds a bachelor's degree in Social Work and Social Administration (SWSA) from Makerere University, Kampala Uganda; a masters in Development Studies - Population and Development, from the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, Netherlands; and a Post-Graduate Diploma in comprehensive HIV/AIDS program management, from Galilee Institute, Israel.
